Alderstead Study School provides structured study and revision support alongside the main education institutions.

Study support

Support can include English, maths, history, digital skills, media literacy, revision, study habits, confidence-building, peer-supported learning, public-service preparation, catch-up learning and foundation reinforcement.

What a Study School is not

The Study School supports learning but does not replace a State school, college, university, tutor, examination body or qualification provider. Its role is supplementary study support within the Alderstead education system.

Using Study School support

Study School provision is intended to reinforce learning already taking place through the main education system. A learner should use the support that matches the subject or study need they are working on, and should continue to follow the requirements of their main school, college or qualification route. Questions about local access can be raised through Alderstead Council's education service.

How Study School support fits with other learning

The Study School supplements a learner's main education. It can reinforce a subject, provide structured revision, help build study habits and support catch-up learning, but it does not replace the school, college or qualification route the learner is already using. Learners continue to follow the requirements of their main education institution.

If access to Study School support is the issue, Alderstead Council's education service can help identify the local route and any appropriate accessibility support.
